
Managing Director
Award-winning Producer and Executive Producer, Jo Porter, was appointed Managing Director of Curio Pictures in May 2021, tasked with re-launching Sony Pictures Television’s film and television production business in Australia.
Recent Curio credits include The Narrow Road to the Deep North, which premiered at Berlinale and earned nine AACTA Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for Jacob Elordi; The Artful Dodger, seasons one and two (Disney+/Hulu), two seasons High Country (Foxtel/BBC1/Hulu), and Playing Gracie Darling (Netflix US/Paramount+). Porter has been instrumental in creating some of Australia’s most successful and acclaimed series, including Wentworth, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Packed to the Rafters and the International Emmy-nominated Always Greener and All Saints.
From 2012 to 2020, she was the creative lead of Fremantle Australia’s drama slate as Director of Scripted. In 2018, she was named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 Women in Global Television.

Creative Director
Rachel Gardner is an award-winning film and television Producer and founding Creative Director of Curio Pictures, launched in 2022. Previously, she spent seven years at See-Saw Films establishing their Australian television slate. Prior, as co-owner of Great Southern Television in New Zealand, she spearheaded their shift into scripted drama.
Recent Curio credits include The Narrow Road to the Deep North (Amazon Prime, BBC1); The Artful Dodger, season one and two(Disney+/Hulu), two seasons High Country (Foxtel/BBC1/Hulu), and Playing Gracie Darling (Netflix US/Paramount+).
Some of her feature film credits as Producer include Thomas M Wright’s multi-award-winning sophomore film The Stranger, which premiered in competition at Cannes Film Festival, before breaking all ratings for an Australian film on global Netflix; and John Maclean’s Sundance Film Festival winning debut feature Slow West.
Further select television credits include Warwick Thornton’s Indigenous vampire hunter series Firebite, which launched AMC+ in Australia; Sam Strauss’s The End (Foxtel/ Showtime/Sky), and both seasons of international-Emmy winner and Australia’s first Netflix original The New Legends of Monkey.
